The paparazzi on the steps of the Metropolitan Museum of Art will have more reasons than ever to go into a frenzy at next Monday’s Costume Institute gala. In addition to co-chairs George Clooney and Julia Roberts, Giorgio Armani is said to be bringing along Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

The rumor mill also has Jennifer Lopez coming to the benefit with Alberta Ferretti, Kate Bosworth with Chanel, and Eva Mendes, Rachel Bilson and Fergie with Calvin Klein. Others expected to attend include celebs Mariah Carey, Renée Zellweger, Scarlett Johansson, Kate Moss, Mary J. Blige, Claire Danes, Mischa Barton and LeBron James, and designers Valentino, Tom Ford, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana and Donatella Versace.

Photo: Sony BMGMarc Anthony has reportedly splashed out nearly $2.5million on a custom pair of diamond earrings as a post-pregnancy present for wife Jennifer Lopez.

Marc is said to have wanted the earrings to be a “Thank You” for Jennifer giving birth to their twins Emme and Max in February. According to the Mirror, he is personally supervising the design - which will include the babies’ initials - and has checked the diamonds which have been specially imported from South Africa.

A source told the newspaper: “It’s no secret that J-Lo has expensive taste, so Marc was going to have to spend a serious amount to show her how he feels.”

The couple are believed to have been paid around $6million for the first photos of their children but spent around $1.4million on the birth

‘Birth scene’ from Jersey Girl.I’m Not Obsessed is reporting that Jennifer Lopez went to the hospital last night for an emergency c section because she went into labor. Her original c section was scheduled for today, but plans changed once her body wanted the babies out earlier.

Movies Rock, 2/12/07.While People Magazine has offered between $4 and $6 million for the USA rights to the photos, it is being reported that OK! magazine has struck an exclusive deal on the international rights on photos of the Jennifer Lopez/Marc Anthony babies. Their pics will run in OK!’s 15 international editions, the magazine confirms.

It is fantastic for those markets, and especially important with the immense strength the exclusive will bring to the new launch of OK! Spain,

said a spokesperson for the magazine. The Spain edition launches March 26.

The guest list includes Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, Sean Combs, Lenny Kravitz, Ashton Kutcher, Lindsay Lohan (maybe Courtney will be her date), Drew Barrymore, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alex Rodriguez, Martha Stewart and Uma Thurman. Alicia Keys and Rihanna are schedule to perform.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony enjoyed a quiet New Year’s Eve with family and friends at the Borgata in Atlantic City. The couple had a specially prepared Italian dinner at Ombra, played blackjack in the hotel’s high-limit casino and bar, Level One, and later retreated to their tricked-out Residence Suite, where they rang in 2008 with friends and family. Among relatives there was J. Lo’s mom, Guadalupe, who may have been brought for good luck. During an April 2004 visit to Borgata, Guadalupe hit for $2.4 million off a $3 spin on a “Wheel of Fortune” slot machine.

Jennifer Lopez and Andy Hilfiger put a sweet face on their fashion collaboration - but the divorce could be getting messy.

Jennifer Lopez is revving up her lawyers to take on former fashion partner Andy Hilfiger, we hear from a source.

The two parted ways last year after a disappointing collaboration on her label, Sweetface. Despite huge hype and a presence at New York Fashion Week, the line never lived up to expectations.

“It is expected that she will file suit and that he will countersue,” says a source close to one of the parties. “They’re likely to sue each other.”

The split took place after years of seemingly cordial relations that even saw Hilfiger attending the Sweetface shows with his designer brother, Tommy.

Last year, Radar magazine reported that one reason for the rift was the hands-on approach of J.Lo’s husband, Marc Anthony. His involvement in Lopez’s business dealings reportedly cramped Hilfiger, who was the Sweetface CEO.

“Andy is very happily back at the Hilfiger empire,” says the snitch of his decision to return to his brother’s business.

Reps for both sides did not comment Tuesday.

Jennifer Lopez is leaving no doubt she’s expecting boy and girl twins — and that they will grow up in the sort of luxury befitting royals. In fact, the 38-year-old mama-to-be bought pink and blue onesies: one monogrammed “princess,” the other, “prince.”

Both son and daughter will get equal comfort by the looks of the gifts she’s requested on her top-secret gift registry at Petit Tresor, the exclusive L.A. baby boutique.

It’s not known whether pals and business types who want to curry her favor will spring for both babies or one, because what mama wants is pricey.

There’s the $349 cashmere outfit, one in pink stripes, one in blue, from Baby CZ.

There are two Moses baskets for $225 each, though there are Smushy teddy bears with pink or blue ribbons for $65.

If you really want to get on the diva’s good side, pick out the Balmoral enameled black carriage for a mere $3,495.

There’s one $289 suede play mat. Guess they’ll have to share.

The cheapest item is the Adiri Natural Nurser at $22. Lopez wants 10 of those.

There’s also a $560 jogging stroller for two. It’s not known whether we should expect to see J.Lo or her nannies trotting around with the infants.

She’s also requested not one but two double Peg Perego strollers for $429 — one in toffee, and one in mint. Don’t speculate that she might even be expecting quadruplets; she’s tricoastal.

Lopez, who Fortune called the richest woman under 40 in America, isn’t leaving all the spending up to her pals, who have until February to save up for the gift(s).

She’s having the tastemakers at Petit Tresor design three nurseries for the teeny totlets at the couple’s estates in Bel Air, Fisher Island, and Oyster Bay, says a friend. Lopez is spending $40,000 to outfit each nest, the pal adds, including gilded cribs. “She wants them filled with the most chic furniture from Europe and embroidered linens from France.” In pink and blue, natch.

Petit Tresor co-owner Samantha Winch would say only: “We don’t talk about any of our clients.”

While People magazine reports that Jennifer Lopez is joining the Spice Girls as a support act on their upcoming tour, Mail On Sunday reports that Jennifer Lopez and Victoria Beckham are “no longer fiends”.

Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Lopez are reportedly no longer speaking, according to US reports. J Lo was a great help to Posh when she was house hunting for the Beckhams’ new family home in LA, but she was a no-show at the ‘Welcome to America’ party thrown by the Cruises and Will Smith and his wife.

Apparently Jennifer was working on a film, but it seems Victoria’s feelings were hurt and she didn’t attend the Latina diva’s catwalk show at New York Fashion Week, with an insider explaining,

“She made her excuses that she had to be in LA which clearly wasn’t the case because she was photographed in New York. It’s a case of wounded egos.”
