Jennifer Lopez to host LA Children’s Hospital gala

Filed under: News Articles by Imko

Jennifer Lopez has children on her mind - and not just her infant twins with husband Marc Anthony.

The 39-year-old singer/actress/entrepreneur is also thinking about the 93,000 sick and seriously injured children treated annually by Childrens Hospital Los Angeles - and how she can help.

Lopez announced Wednesday that she’ll host and help coordinate the third Noche de Ninos benefit gala. This year’s star-studded party, to be held Oct. 11 at the Nokia Center, will feature performances by Lopez, Anthony, Alejandro Sanz and Latin rockers Juanes and Mana.

Lopez, who was Noche de Ninos’ first honoree in 2004, said her twin son and daughter inspired her to get more involved.

“Doing something where I was proactive … where I was the one pushing and making something happen, that just became very important to me,” Lopez told The Associated Press. “I don’t know if it was because I was pregnant and thinking about children, thinking about the world. Definitely my children inspire me very much in so many ways, even just in the past two and a half months of their little lives.” Continue reading »

Loren of FashionCents.com blogs about her visit to Jennifer, Marc, Max ...

Loren & JR Ridinger.
Loren Ridinger, Senior Vice President of Market America and owner of the blog MyFashionCents has posted a new blog entry on Mother’s Day in which she tells about her visit to Jennifer and Marc’s home and how fast the babies Emme & Max are growing and that Jennifer and Marc have NO nannies at all.

We stopped in NYC on the way back to Miami for a few days to check on Jennifer and Marc and the babies. They are growing so fast and are SO beautiful. Amber and I helped Jennifer for a couple days because believe it or not, she has no nanny and she and Marc are talking [sic!] care of Emme and Max alone. They are amazing and they are great at it. They just get a babysitter when they need it at night for an event. And they love every second of it and they should because they are such good babies. Emme is so sweet and content all the time and Max is like a athlete already. His body is like JR’s at the top, so muscular and thick. I love them. Amber loves them so much too and it is great to have that time with her with the twins, because I get to tell her all the things I remember about her when she was that age. Of course, Jennifer is skinny again and always gorgeous and she glows like I have never seen.

PROMO: Deseo for Men by Jennifer Lopez

Filed under: Fashion, News Articles by Imko

A look at the sexy advert per WWD
Jennifer Lopez will follow up on her most recent fragrance releases, Deseo and Deseo Forever, with her first masculine fragrance, Deseo for Men.

I wanted to capture the intimate and personal nature of a man who is sexy, yet strong. Desire is a universal word that expresses passion between two people. I wanted to take this meaning and put it behind the idea of one desiring another. The smell is warming and creates a provocative and sensual texture.”

Like Deseo for Women, Deseo for Men was developed by perfumers Ellen Molner and Jim Krivda. The notes include lemon, yuzu, red berries, cedar and tobacco leaves, guaicwood, orris, sandalwood, cedarwood, patchouli, amber and vanilla.

Jennifer Lopez Deseo for Men will launch in September, and will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette and matching grooming products.

Cartier and Coty are hoping their two newest scents, both set to launch in September, will be jewels. Roadster, Cartier’s fragrance, is the house’s first men’s scent in a decade; Deseo for Men is Jennifer Lopez’s first men’s fragrance. Industry sources estimate Roadster could generate first-year sales in excess of $20 million, while Deseo for Men could do $13 million globally in its first year.

Judge dismisses ‘South Beach’ lawsuit

Filed under: News Articles, Out And About by Imko

A judge in New York has dismissed a lawsuit against JENNIFER LOPEZ from a writer who accused the star of stealing his idea for a TV series.

Jack Bunick filed suit at the U.S. District Court in Manhattan claiming 2006 drama series South Beach - which was executive produced by the star - was too similar to the plot of a pilot episode he wrote in 1999 for a programme called South Beach Miami.

Old promo for UPN’s South Beach starring Vanessa Williams.
Bunick named Lopez, United Paramount Network (UPN) and CBS Television in the suit.

But Judge Richard Berman tossed the lawsuit out of court on Wednesday (30Apr08) declaring there to be inadequate evidence to take the case to trial. The judge also noted that there was “powerful evidence” that the defendants had created the series independently.

Papers filed by Lopez’s lawyers claimed that although the star was an executive producer, she was barely involved in the development and was only brought in at a later stage to “lend celebrity to the show.”

The show was cancelled after just eight episodes following poor reviews and low viewing figures.

Filed under: News Articles by Imko

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has added yet another new Jennifer Lopez song to their database. (One month ago they also added a new song).

The title of this new song is ‘Get On The Mic’ and it’s written and produced by Lynn & Wade LLP (Peter Wade & Michelle Bell). The same duo behind “Never Gonna Give Up”, “The Way It Is”, “Be Mine”, “I Need Love” and the Brave iTunes pre-order bonus track “Frozen Moments”.

I am very excited that Jennifer is working with Lynn & Wade again! We assume that this new song is recorded for the Greatest Hits album. Which a dutch recordstore has listed for a November 2008 release.
