Jennifer Lopez’s Sweet Smell of Success

If you love Jennifer Lopez and heavenly-smelling scents, no doubt you’ve already amassed a collection of crystal bottles bearing J.Lo-endorsed fragrances: Glow, First Love, Live Lux, Still, Deseo…there are more, but sheesh! We’ve lost count.

Now, Jennifer’s got a new fragrance to tout–and she did just that this week for nearly 2,000 adoring fans at Macy’s Herald Square in NYC–but it’s not for us, chicas. The star just launched Deseo for Men, her first masculine fragrance, and don’t think she didn’t check in with her esposo Marc Anthony for input!

“We’re always creative partners,” Lopez told Latina.com at the launch. “At first we wanted to go with notes like tobacco and whiskey because we wanted it to be very masculine–we were like, does this sound crazy?” Whiskey didn’t make the final cut, but tobacco leaves did, along with notes like yuzu, cedar leaf and guaiacwood. The effect is a scent that’s rich, woody and definitely man-made.

We asked Jennifer whether Marc was really a cologne-wearing kind of guy before their relationship, and she had this to say: “He did wear a little bit at first–like, very light–and then I told him, ‘I like for you to smell really good! I like cologne.’ So now he wears more.”

Though Jennifer has been on a pretty grueling schedule recently–from fashion shows in New York and Milan to concerts in Greece and even a triathlon in Malibu!–she insisted that Max and Emme are at the center of her attention. “Even though everybody’s concentrating on the things I do that are kind of loud, most of my days are spent taking care of the babies. It’s challenging, but it’s great actually–they come first, and everything else comes after that.”

Everything else doesn’t just include fragrances and promo appearances. Jennifer also revealed that she’s already back in the studio, at work on 2-3 new songs for an English-language Greatest Hits album, which she’s aiming to release at the end of 2008 or early 2009. She’s also going to try her hand at a Spanish-language followup to Como Ama Una Mujer, which sold well internationally but underperformed in the States. “I really have an itch for that,” the star admitted. You know when Jennifer Lopez has an itch to do anything, she’ll make it happen.

Almost eight months after the birth of her twins, Emme and Max, Jennifer Lopez is back in fine form — and she can’t wait to show the world.

During the latter months of her pregnancy, Jennifer ducked out of the spotlight, putting all her energy into becoming a first-time mom. But now, a friend of the star says,

“J.Lo can’t wait to make a huge comeback.”

And she’s doing everything she can to make that happen.

“She is working all the time and has so much projects coming up,”

says an insider.

Jennifer, 39, will soon start shooting two movies — The Governess and Love and Other Impossible Pursuits — and will release a greatest hits album in February.

On the heels of the hit single “Addiction,” Next Selection/Universal-Motown star Ryan Leslie is set to hit the road for a nationwide tour.

Kicking off Oct. 2 in Los Angeles, Leslie has teamed up with Grey Goose for the tour which will run through several stops including New York, Chicago and Detroit before coming to a close on Nov. 8 in Atlanta. (Tour Itinerary below)

She became a mother a few months ago but despite that, Jennifer Lopez is also investing some time in her music career again. She is almost 10 years active in the music industry. To celebrate this she will release a Greatest Hits album which will include, besides her smash hits, new songs she is currently recording!

Jennifer released her latest album ‘Brave‘ in October 2007 and earlier that year she released her first ever Spanish language album ‘Como Ama Una Mujer‘. The Latina superstar hopes her upcoming Greatest Hits album will hit stores in October this year, reports Notimex.

The new material for the album will be produced by Swizz Beatz, Timbaland, Cory Rooney and The Matrix.

On the album the singer will resume to her musical style, but she will add rhythms and a danceable style to her remarkable funky, hip hop, r&b and dancy sound, so it will be different from her previous music productions.

In addition, the actress and singer is also working on her comeback on the bigscreen. She will star in Love And Other Impossible Pursuits, which is slated to premiere in 2009, and in The Governess.

In 2002, Miss Lopez released a remix album featuring hot remixes of her hit singles called ‘J To Tha L-O! the remixes‘. The album includes 15 remixes of her smash hits like: Love Don’t Cost A Thing, Play, I’m Real, Ain’t It Funny, If You Had My Love and Waiting For Tonight.

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has added yet another new Jennifer Lopez song to their database. (One month ago they also added a new song).

The title of this new song is ‘Get On The Mic’ and it’s written and produced by Lynn & Wade LLP (Peter Wade & Michelle Bell). The same duo behind “Never Gonna Give Up”, “The Way It Is”, “Be Mine”, “I Need Love” and the Brave iTunes pre-order bonus track “Frozen Moments”.

I am very excited that Jennifer is working with Lynn & Wade again! We assume that this new song is recorded for the Greatest Hits album. Which a dutch recordstore has listed for a November 2008 release.
