American actress Jennifer Lopez along with her company Nuyorican Productions has signed a first-look deal with Universal Media Studios.
Lopez runs Nuyorican with producing partner Simon Fields, and according to the terms of the two-year pact, the company will create a wide variety of TV projects for the studio, reports Variety.
The deal was announced by NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios co-chairman Ben Silverman on October 27, and it reunites Lopez with NBC.
Under Lopez and Fields, Nuyorican has been busy expanding its TV development, having sold a small screen version of the Lopez feature Maid in Manhattan to ABC, as well as the project Amigas to Disney Channel.
Nuyorican’s TV credits also include the UPN drama South Beach, the Univision mini Como ama una mujer and the MTV dance show Dancelife.

Ben Affleck has opened up about his high-profile engagement to Jennifer Lopez insisting the pair was “too accessible” to the media. Ben and Jennifer (both now remarried and having children) began dating in 2002 after meeting on the set of their film Gigli.
The former couple split shortly before they were due to wed in September 2004, marking the end of a media circus that surrounded their relationship.
He says, “I think Jen and I made a mistake in that we fell in love, we were excited and maybe too accessible. I don’t think either of us anticipated the degree to which it would take on a world of its own.”
Ben is expecting his second child with actress Jennifer Garner (whom he married in 2005) later this year. Jennifer married latin singer Marc Anthony in 2004 and gave birth to Emme and Max in February.

Natalie Portman is set to star with Scott Cohen and Charlie Tahan in Love and Other Impossible Pursuits, a Don Roos-directed adaptation of an Ayelet Waldman novel.
Variety says that the film, produced by Marc Platt, will begin shooting in Manhattan on Nov. 10. Roos wrote the script. The story revolves around a young woman who finds the key to recovering her marriage in her relationship with her precocious stepson.
Portman will be executive producer under her handsomecharlie films.

Jennifer Lopez arrived at the Fashion Group’s 25th annual Night of Stars at Cipriani Wall Street with husband Marc Anthony, October 23rd.
Special guest at the ceremony was Lopez’s close friend Donatella Versace, who was honoured with the Superstar Award that night.
Jennifer Lopez showed off her stunning form in a Versace one-shouldered gown, she looked absolutely beautiful!

Jennifer: Good morning. Are we truly present? I was really honored to come here and speak to you because I get to stand here not as an entertainer, but as a girl who grew up in the Bronx w/two sisters and a strong and loving mom. I stand before you as someone who loves being a woman. I love that when life hands us our greatest challenges, we look up and realize that capacity. I love the fellowship we’re sharing here today.
I hope you leave here today believing you are the leader you’ve been searching for.
I realized early in my own journey that I had to be my own champion. Nobody told me to do what I did - most told me NOT to do it. But I was lucky enough to have a strong feeling inside that I should listen to my gut and it would guide me. When I didn’t listen is when I had my biggest mishaps.
Certain relationships make you doubt who you are and what you’re capable of and what you deserve. Took me some time to get it right in that arena. That’s why I’m telling you you have to listen to that voice. In one of my lowest moments, when you don’t have a grasp of who you are or where you’re going, when you feel the world is questioning you and you are questioning yourself. I prayed for guidance, for strength, a message, something. I picked up my Bible and the passage said be happy for your trials and tribulations because you test your faith. Perseverance. We’ll come back to that.

Jennifer Lopez, hanging out at the Neil George Salon in Beverly Hills while friend Leah Remini touched up her color and got a trim. The following morning, British songbird Duffy got some blonde highlights and extensions at the salon for a photo shoot. “They played her song ‘Mercy’ while she was there,” an eyewitness tells us. “She was so sweet, and even signed a CD for a fan.” Later that day, Nicole Richie also stopped in for blonde highlights.
