Maybe it was wishful thinking. For a while, fashion industry insiders were predicting the ubiquitous celebrity fashion line might start to fade away. Not yet. “Stars are more active in it than ever,” says WWD editor Julee Greenberg. And for fall: “Dozens more.” Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kylie Minogue and even Paris Hilton are among stars jumping into the fashion fray this year. The M by Madonna line of clothing at H&M launched with great fanfare. They follow stars such as Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani, who were on the leading edge and now have fashion lines that are still holding strong. A closer look at J-Lo’s spring/summer line and others coming for fall:

What: JLo By Jennifer Lopez, the singer’s 6-year-old line, offers low-priced fashions for juniors. The singer also has a new line of high-end fashion called justsweet, with status denim items, accessories and casual wear for older customers. Lopez was wearing justsweet clothing April 10 on American Idol. Prices range from $29 (for bangles) to $198 (leather bomber jacket).
When/where: JLo is in Macy’s and at shopjlo.com in August; justsweet will be in department stores in August.
Greenberg says: The summer JLo line is a “change for the better,” with Lopez overseeing every detail. “It’s a real reflection of Jennifer.”
